Horizon Europe training with Hyperion​​​​​​

On behalf of ZHIA, we would like to invite you to two days of Hyperion courses to improve your knowledge of EU funding and help you participate in Horizon Europe projects. The courses will be given by Sean Mccarthy.

Sean has been active in the Framework programmes since 1980. He has been involved in over 150 research proposals to the Framework programmes and has participated in over 60 Framework projects. In 16 of these projects Seán was the coordinator. Today, he does not participate in the Framework programmes but concentrates on designing and delivering training courses. Since 1995 over 130,000 participants have attended his courses in 29 countries. He has presented training courses on the Framework programmes in over 290 research centres throughout Europe.

In 2017 the European Commission published a list of the top 100 universities and research organisations participating in Horizon 2020. Dr. McCarthy has delivered training courses in 74 of these top 100 universities and research organisations.

During these three courses he will introduce you to the Horizon Europe programme, give you inisght into partner selection, writing a research proposal and proposal evaluation.

This is organized as in person courses and it is therefore not possible to join digitally.

This workshop is designed for researchers who are new to Horizon Europe. The workshop helps researchers plan their European research activities.

12.00 How Partners are Selected for Horizon Europe

In Horizon Europe over 80% of the funding involves submitting proposals as part of a consortium. This course first describes how partners are selected for proposals. The course then describes how to network at European level. Strategic networking involves identifying the key people to target and how to promote scientific expertise for future proposals.

10.00 How to Write a Competitive Proposal for Pillar II

This workshop is designed for researchers interested in developing Pillar II Proposals. The workshop is designed to help researchers with the preparation of Pillar II Proposals. The workshop is based on the designers experience in over 150 research proposals, evaluating over 200 European research proposals and coordinating 16 European research projects.
