Metabolomics & The Microbiome

The Benelux Metabolomics Centre (BMC) is proud to organise the third edition of Metabolomics & The Microbiome on 29 October 2025 at dsm-firmenich in Delft, the Netherlands. Building on the success of the first two editions [1st 2022; 2nd 2024], this year’s event continues the conversation on how metabolomics can help address complex biological questions in microbiome research, food, nutrition, and health monitoring. While the scope remains broad, the topics will be related to mammalian health. We aim to explore the potential, pitfalls, and limitations of metabolomics in this context, and to foster new public–private collaborations across disciplines.

For the scientific programme, we invite leading national and international keynote speakers from both industry and academia.

Early-career researchers are also offered the opportunity to present their work in this emerging field through oral or poster presentations via abstract submission. Abstract submission is now open.

The meeting will be opened by Adriana Carvalho de Souza, Head of Analytical Chemistry & Bethany M. Henrick, Head of Microbiome and Hygiene at dsm-firmenich.

Abstract submission

The programme committee is responsible for selecting submitted abstracts for an oral presentations and posters.

We encourage PhD and Postdocs working to upload an abstract to present their research during this symposium.

Deadline to submit an abstracts for an oral presentation: 18 September, end of the day
Notification date for oral presentations: latest on 1 October
Deadline to submit a poster presentation: 15 October
