Dear GROW researchers,

Have you ever struggled with ethical dilemmas in your PhD journey?

For example: Can you exclude particular observations from your research? Can you use exactly
the same data set for multiple papers? And should you agree on a colleague being a co-author
on a paper to which he/she has not made a significant contribution?

Well, it’s time to further develop your ‘moral compass’ and to discuss Scientific Integrity at
our next GROW PhD retreat!

The retreat will take place on Thursday, February 10th 2022 and the program consists of an
introduction to Scientific Integrity, playing the Dilemma Game, discussing dilemmas with
Prof. Dr. Herman Kingma (Confidential Advisor on Scientific Integrity) and hearing two
personal stories of the patients side and time for questions and answers. There will also
be plenty of time to speak with our PhD representatives.

Last time we decided to postpone the ‘live’ part of the PhD Retreat and we hope to be
able to catch up on this in February 2022.
Of course we will adhere to the Corona measures
in place at that time and will constantly evaluate whether it’s safe to proceed on site.
We have limited the number of participants to 75
. The location is yet to be announced.

Do not miss out on this opportunity and register here! The event is free of charge, because
we consider it a valuable investment into your personal development, but registration is mandatory.
We look forward to meeting all of you in person again and hope to see you at our GROW Phd retreat.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via secretariaat-grow@maastrichtuniversity.nl!

Best wishes,
