Against a backdrop of climate change, biodiversity loss, environmental degradation, rampant inequality and exorbitant corporate profits, this conference explores the transformations in ownership structures necessary to foster sustainable economic practices and the transition towards the 'next economy'. Specifically, it will look at the role of private legal frameworks in shaping economic practices and the potential role of steward ownership, public ownership and worker ownership in contributing to this transition as well as the political action required to realise this goal.
