Staffdevelopment UTQ

Requirements for Participation:

- Your head of department has agreed upon your participation;

- You have successfully completed the PBL/tutor training (all phases, including peer coaching); and

- You have ample teaching experience with PBL. At a minimum, this means you have served as tutor (at UM) for at least two course periods; more extensive teaching experience is preferred.

The UTQ programme consists of three phases:

1. Self-assessment (module 1)
2. Competence development (modules 2-4, elective module(s), peer learning, independent study, etc)
3. Evaluation (Portfolio & final interview)

The dates per module you can download here and here. The planning for semester 2 (periods 4-5) will be made available in September. More general information about UTQ at UM you can download here. Please also join the Umployee group UMployee group Staff Development Law PBL & UTQ (BKO in Dutch)

All participants begin their UTQ trajectory with Module 1 (Kick-Off: Vision on Education, Self-Assessment & Personal Development Goals), which must be completed before attending any other modules. This requirement also applies to participants following the so-called PAC trajectory.

For each module, you need to prepare assignments which you can find in the LAW UTQ Canvas courses or in PebblePad (in case you started in Sept. 2025).

All sessions will take place at the Law Faculty. You will receive a confirmation with the room a few days before each session. Online participation is not possible. In case we have less than 6 registrations, the session might be re-scheduled.

(We need this information for the certificate)

You can, unfortunately, not start the UTQ in case you have not finished the PBL training. Please contact Catherine de Rijdt or sign up for the PBL training via this link.
