Assignment EfVET youth conference 2024 “Gen Z”
Goal
Creating/designing your own dreamschool based on the characteristics of Generation Z.
Introduction of the competition theme
The main theme for the competion is; create your generation Z dreamschool. Research shows that students from Gen Z (born between 1995-2010) prefer their education to be personal, technology-based, sustainability-oriented and community-oriented. Further research during the competition will help the students to take further notice of the needs and characteristics of Generation Z.
Assignment
During the conference the student teams will prepare a plan for their dreamschool that they will pitch using the topics above and the information gathered during the workshops and by doing research. All students will get the exact guidelines for the assignment on the first day of the conference. The students will receive extra training during workshops on how to pitch, creative thinking and how to conduct research on the subject.
Teams
The team will consist of 4 students from different countries. Teams will be created on the first competition day. In the simulation the students are hired as advisors to a schoolboard.
Guidelines:
The students are promoting their innovative plan for their Gen Z dreamschool
- All four students participate in the pitch
- All students show spoken English language skills in the pitch
- The students specify the targetgroup in the pitch. The targetgroup will be chosen by the team during the workshops on location.
- Research and sources are mentioned in the pitch
- The pitch has a clear goal and structure
- The pitch should be between 5 and 7 minutes in length
- A written version of the pitch is handed to the organization at the end of the challenge
- Please note that students are not allowed to use any pre-fabricated PowerPoints or pitches from their home school and teachers are not allowed to be involved in the making of the pitch (we ask you to help us make the contest as fair for all students as possible)
- Judging will be done by all participating members of the EfVET conference
- Feedback will be given to the students after the pricegiving ceremony

Competition rules and requirements
Entry Requirements
- Students eligible for competition must be registered in a course of study at an EFVET member school. Students being temporarily registered in a school in the context of an exchange are not allowed to compete for their host school.
- The age minimum to participate is 18 years and the limit to participate in the competition is 26 years at the moment of the challenge.
- The minimum English level for competing students is B2 (CEFR). All students are required to communicate in English during competition. The organizer is only allowed to provide explanations in English
- For reasons of equity, a student who participated once in a competition during an EfVET-conference is not allowed to register a second time for any competition.
Registration
All sections of the registration forms should be fully and accurately completed and returned to the administrator by the required dates inclusive of full payment. Please note: Only fully completed registration forms will be processed for competitions. The organizers of the competitions will not accept responsibility for the consequences of incomplete or inaccurate registration forms, or those not accompanied by payment.
- Each National board is allowed to enroll a maximum of two students.
- EThe organizing country is allowed to participate in the competition.
Competition Environment and Organization
- Competitors should present themselves for the competition in appropriate professional clothing or optional in outfits matching the theme.
Competition Specifications
- During the competition the competitors must work in a team of four, the teams will be a mix of different schools and countries.
- The competition should encourage creativity, innovation, communication and teamwork while at the same time presenting the students with sufficient professional challenge.
- The competition specifications must be written in English.
- The marking criteria and marking scheme for each competition must be written in English and will be published when the students are informed about their assignment.
- No changes may be made to the competition specifications, marking criteria and marking scheme.
Judging
The judging will be done by the participants of the EfVET conference. Students will receive feedback and a winner will be chosen using an online voting system. All members in attendance have the opportunity to vote.
