Dr. Ya Wei is an associate professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University. She received her Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her research interests include developing ultra-high performance cement-based materials; multi-scale characterizing and simulating mechanical properties of cement-based materials; developing smart MEMS acceleration sensor system for transportation infrastructure monitoring and low-cost, rapid repair technology. Dr. Wei is author of more than 150 journal articles, and 3 published books. She serves as an editorial board member of several journals including Cement and Concrete Composites, and Road Matierals and Pavement Design. She is the recipient of the National Progress Award in Science and Technology.
