GRONEN Conference 2022

Theme: Sustainability in context

May 31 – June 2, 2022

Amsterdam, Netherlands

The Group for Research on Organizations and the Natural Environment (GRONEN) is an open and international network of engaged scholars focused on innovative thinking in order to generate transformative ways of protecting the natural environment and contributing to societal progress in a world of rapid, complex and non-linear environmental change.

The GRONEN 2022 Conference is hosted by the Amsterdam Business School at the University of Amsterdam.

Conference highlights:

• GRONEN 2022 is diverse in its format, including regular paper sessions, short paper development sessions, special issue sessions, social events, innovative professional development sessions, and interactive plenary discussions/keynotes by leading scholars and practitioners.

• The conference is bottom-up, with several PDWs plus one plenary session emerging organically from the GRONEN community; and topics for the Doctoral Consortium having been decided based on student input.

• We strive for a sustainable conference by providing participants the opportunity to voluntarily offset their flights’ carbon emissions and committing to offset other conference-related emissions; and by selecting vegetarian options for all meals and the conference dinner.

• GRONEN 2022 is inclusive, with a heavy discount for participants from low and middle-income countries; two conference plenaries and the entire Doctoral Consortium in hybrid format to accommodate those who cannot travel; supporting diversity in committees, sessions and plenaries; and using a venue that allows participation for persons with disabilities.
