Ukraine is a sovereign nation and will make its own decisions. Kyiv will not accept an outcome that does not recognise its sovereignty or ensure Ukraine's long-term security -- nor should they. They will keep fighting if necessary. Europe must protect Ukraine, and itself, and balance the Trump Administration, which appears to have sided largely with the Kremlin in this process. In this lecture Ben Hodges will make clear that the negative consequences for Europe, if Putin gets his way, are stark and long-lasting. Can Europe meet the moment?
