Meet The Organisers

FIT (Fitness Improving Technology) is an EU Interreg-funded project led by Prof. Bert Smeets at Maastricht University. It brings together universities in Maastricht, Leuven, Liège, Hasselt and Aachen, alongside the companies Revatis, ReWrite, Scinus and Milocron, to develop muscle stem cell therapies using patients’ own cells. These therapies target rare muscle diseases, muscle loss linked to ageing and cancer, sports injuries and heart muscle diseases. FIT is the main organiser of RMMR 2026.
