DisCoVor 16-19 April 2024

We look back on an inspiring event. We have enjoyed meeting you at the conference and want to thank you all for your participation. A link to photos from the event.

The 3rd Colloquium on Vortex Dominated Flows – DisCoVor 2024 will be held in Delft, Netherlands, from April 16th to the 19th, 2024. DisCoVor focuses on the flow physics of unsteady, vortex-dominated flows. Flows where the dynamic interplay of multiple vortices plays a central role are the core subject of this colloquium. Research areas of particular interest encompass fluid-structure interaction, biological flight/swimming, physiological flows, flow control, energy harvesting, separated flows, wakes, and other shear and vortical flows. Contributions utilizing experimental, computational, analytical, and data-driven modelling approaches are all warmly encouraged.

DisCoVor serves not only as a platform for disseminating cutting-edge research in vortex-dominated flows but also as a catalyst for fostering engagement and dynamic discussions among participants. Across each of the four colloquium days, a morning session will feature oral presentations, while the afternoons will be dedicated to poster sessions, informal exchanges, and various group excursions.

Venue
DisCoVor will be held from 16 – 19 April 2024. Delft University of Technology will host DisCoVor at the faculty of Mechanical Engineering on the campus in Delft. The TU Delft was founded in 1842 by the king Willem ll and has now grown into the largest technical university in the Netherlands. The city of Delft is well known for the famous painter Johannes Vermeer, "the father of microbiology" Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, and has the center of Delft Blue pottery. During the week, we will offer different activities to get to know the province of South Holland.
