MARE People and the Sea conference 2025

This is the registration form for the 2025 People & the Sea Conference (MARE 2025) and Policy Day, which will be held June 23-27, 2025 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

*An early career scientist is usually considered as: under 35 years of age or completed degree in last five years.

**80 discounted (or early bird) tickets are available for the in-person conference attendance: 55 for students (Bachelor, Master, PhD) and early career scientists and 25 for lower-income country participants (all countries that are not in the WB High Income Economies list). Discounted tickets are provided on a first come first serve basis.

Please note that the demand for the discounted fee is likely to exceed the available spots. We kindly request those who have the means to cover their expenses through project funds or travel grants to refrain from applying for the discounted fee, in order to make it available for those who truly require it. Your considerate act will be greatly appreciated.

*** Most but not all conference panels can be attended online. Please note, however, that online attendance is passive (watching only), and that one will not be able to present a paper or participate in conference discussions (except through ‘chat’).’

Please note that payments must be made at the time of registration. Unpaid reservations (when choosing the option to pay via bank transfer) will be cancelled by UvA Conferences and Events two weeks after they have been made . The option to pay via bank transfer is only possible until April 1.

Cancellation policy
1. Paid registration may be transferred to another person at any time.
2. Cancellations must be made in writing to conference@uva.nl. The following cancellation fees will apply:
a. Until May 1, 2025, 23:59 PM (CEST), the registration fee will be refunded in full minus a 100 EUR cancellation fee
b. From May 15, 2025, 23:59 PM (CEST), the registration fee will be refunded in full minus a 250 EUR cancellation fee.
c. From June 5, refunds are no longer possible.
d. "No shows" (due to all causes including natural disasters and acts of terrorism) are non-refundable.
e. Cancellation of a ticket for online only conference access: no refunds will be made.
