'Living in a Bathtub' There is an urgency to prepare for floods resulting from sea level rise, but fluvial flooding may demand our attention even sooner. When a flood occurs, the healthcare sector becomes vulnerable. As a result, our research focuses on modeling flood impacts and collaborating with Dutch healthcare sector decision makers to ensure readiness for flooding events. In this presentation, we will explain our approach and provide a sneak preview into our ongoing research into the 2021 flooding event that affected Limburg. Dr. Aimée Slangen We will take you along on our journey to study and improve the flood disaster preparedness of the Dutch health system. In particular, we will show how we currently engage with health system decision makers to map and assess the regional water-related risks for healthcare. In addition, we will provide a sneak preview of our ongoing research into the 2021 flooding events that affected Limburg.
