"Perspectives on Woman, Life, Freedom in Iran"

The largest demonstrations in years have started in Iran since September 2022 and protests with the slogan of “Woman, Life, Freedom” are still happening across the country. Iranians of all ages, ethnicities and genders have joined in the demonstrations not only in Iran, also all over the world.

On Tuesday 14 February 2023 members of UM community, UM Daftar and UM's D&I office have organized an event by inviting three speakers. This event has aimed to shed light on the nature and development of the revolutionary movement of the “Woman, Life, Freedom" from the professional background of the speakers. Experts will address three dimensions of this slogan from historical, political, or legal points of view and discuss Iran protests: What are the causes of the protests? What does the slogan of “Woman, Life, Freedom” signify?  And what should or could be the role of European countries and institutions in supporting “Woman, Life, Freedom”?
