Let's change the face of Food Waste (LCTFOFW)

 

Voedselverspilling is een belangrijk wereldwijd probleem waar veel landen mee te maken hebben. Voedselverspilling heeft veel negatieve gevolgen, zoals een gebrek aan voedselzekerheid in sommige landen, milieuvervuiling en economische verliezen. Bovendien is volgens de stichting 'Samen tegen voedselverspilling' het tegengaan van voedselverspilling de beste manier om het opwarmen van de aarde tegen te gaan omdat een derde van alle wereldwijde broeikasgassen ontstaat in de voedselketen.

 

Food waste is a major global problem many countries are facing. Food waste has many negative consequences such as lack of food security in some countries, environmental pollution and economic losses. Moreover, according to the Foundation 'Samen tegen voedselverspilling' (English translation: Together Against Food Waste), stopping food waste is the best way to combat global warming because one-third of all global greenhouse gases are created in the food chain.

 

 

Educatie staat op plaats nummer twee als oplossing om broeikasgassen te verminderen. In het project Let’s change the face of food waste doen we precies die twee dingen: verspilling tegengaan en studenten, docenten en mkb-medewerkers opleiden zodat ze zich bewust worden van dit maatschappelijk probleem. Daarom organiseren we masterclasses om onze kennis te delen.

 

Education ranks number two as a solution to reduce greenhouse gases. In the project Let's change the face of food waste, we are doing exactly those two things: fighting waste and educating students, teachers and SME employees so that they become aware of this social problem. That's why we organize master classes to share our knowledge.
