Welcome from the Housing First Europe Hub 

We are delighted to welcome you to our third Housing First Europe Hub conference in Rotterdam.  Over the past 10 years, the Housing First Europe Hub’s partnership network has worked to build its capacity to support training, research and advocacy to promote Housing First as a mainstream approach to addressing homelessness.  

This conference will be our biggest yet - with speakers and participants coming from a wide range of sectors to actively work together on the next steps for Housing First, including, how can we include prevention of homelessness in housing and social policies. 

Join us in Rotterdam for a set of innovative, interactive and creative discussions.  We look forward to seeing you in October.

Welcome from the City of Rotterdam

We are delighted to welcome you to Rotterdam for the third Housing First Europe Hub conference Building Bridges to Prevent and Combat Homelessness. Rotterdam is a city defined by action, innovation and diversity. It is a place where ideas turn into impact, and where people come to dream and do. We are proud to host this conference with The City of Rotterdam.

Across Europe, homelessness is rising rapidly. This puts increasing pressure on existing systems. Without a fundamental shift, these systems will become unsustainable. There is no viable alternative but to scale up Housing First as the guiding approach. Housing must be the foundation of lasting solutions. In Rotterdam, the City is putting this into practice with scaling up the Housing First as the foundation for ending homelessness. This approach brings together housing, healthcare, social support and public policy into one integrated response.

This conference brings together practitioners, policymakers, researchers and partners from across Europe. It is a place to learn, to connect and to accelerate change. Expect innovative, interactive and creative discussions. Expect new ideas and new connections. Most of all, expect collaboration that drives real change by building bridges.

As the national network, Housing First Nederland is incredibly proud to welcome the European community to Rotterdam. This event is a vital opportunity to strengthen our collective mission. For a long time, Housing First in the Netherlands was viewed as a niche solution. Today, we have reached a turning point: it has become the guiding framework for our national strategy to end homelessness.

As a key partner of the Housing First Europe Hub, our mission is clear: we are driving the transition from small-scale projects to a nationwide, systemic approach. We facilitate this movement by connecting practice with policy, providing training, and doing advocacy. For us, this conference is a catalyst for change. We look forward to vibrant discussions and inspiring sessions, sharing our journey towards systemic Housing First, and connecting with all of you to make housing a reality for everyone.
