Peter Horvatovich

Péter Horvatovich received his PhD from University of Strasbourg (France) in food analytical chemistry in 2001 developing new analytical approaches for detection of 2-alkylcyclobutanones to identify food preserved by ionization treatment. Following this period he spent 2 years in pharmaceutical industry at
Sanofi-Synthelabo (Budapest, Hungary) performing molecular modeling and cheminformatics and one and half year of postdoc position at the Bundesinstitute für Risikobewertung (Berlin, Germany) with Alexander von Humboldt and Hertie foundation scholarship detecting of use of recombinant somatotropin in lactating cow.

In 2005 he joined Analytical Biochemistry group at University of Groningen (The Netherlands), where he is working in the last 18 years and currently chairing Computational Mass Spectrometry position as Full Professor. His research interests focus on computational mass spectrometry, proteogenomics data integration, bioinformatics, mass spectrometry imaging, clinical proteomics and metabolomics and biomarker discovery. He authored more than 140 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. He is secretary general of the Chromosome-Centric Human Proteome Project and participating in Swedish Melanoma Cancer Moonshot program and participate in clinical multi-omics and biomarker studies.
