Welcome to Brussels!

We are thrilled to announce the 26th edition of the EURON PhD Days, which will take place on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 January 2026 at the Catholic University of Louvain, right in the heart of Europe.

This year, we invite you not only to share your science but also to experience the unique atmosphere of Brussels, a city where cultures, languages, and ideas meet. The EURON PhD Days are much more than a conference: they are a chance for PhD candidates to showcase their research, exchange ideas with colleagues from across the network, and connect with senior scientists in an inspiring international environment.

The program will feature plenary lectures, parallel sessions, several workshops, poster presentations, as well as the now well-loved fire presentations, where researchers pitch their projects in a fast-paced and engaging way. As always, the best posters and PhD talks will be awarded!

We are especially excited about this year’s highlights:

  • Day 1 will feature a unique dual lecture by two professors, Dr Silvia Bolognin from Maastricht University and Dr Bernard Hanseeuw from UCLouvain, who will share their perspectives on Alzheimer's disease.
  • Day 2 will welcome two keynote speakers, Roberta Gualdani from UCLouvain and Tamar Makin from the University of Cambridge, who will inspire us with their cutting-edge work.

Beyond science, the EURON PhD Days are about building connections. Throughout the event, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet, discuss, and exchange ideas in both formal and informal settings. To connect both congress days, we are delighted to invite you to a dinner in the heart of Brussels, where science meets conviviality in the vibrant atmosphere of the city.

If you are a PhD student eager to present your research, we warmly encourage you to send your abstracts for oral, poster, or fire-pitch presentations to euronphddays@gmail.com.

We can’t wait to welcome you in Brussels in January 2026 for an inspiring and unforgettable edition of the EURON PhD Days!
