BIO
Arthur S. Courtin is a postdoctoral fellow at Aarhus University and Scientific Collaborator at UCLouvain. His work aims to advance our understanding of how the healthy human nervous system transforms thermal stimuli into subjective experiences of warmth, cold, and pain, and how these processes are disrupted in pathological conditions. His current project examines how the nervous system copes with the particularly noisy and delayed nature of thermosensory signals through perceptual inference, multisensory integration, and learning from past experience. He combines psychophysics, non-invasive neuroimaging (EEG and fMRI), and computational modelling to address these questions.
Presentation: Feeling the pain we expect: computational modelling and neurocognitive correlates of pain expectation updating and integration in an unstable world
