Discovering My Values In Life

Host: Greet Kellens - UM Psychologist
During the workshop, you will identify your personal values and qualities. We will use this as a starting point to figure out what can get in the way of living that meaningful life. You will learn to become aware of the bumps in the road and how to take action to bypass them. We focus on how to develop more self-compassion and acceptance towards negative thoughts and feelings.

Walk With Dogs & Talk

Walk and Talk to relax, connect, and enjoy the outdoors!
This event is designed to help you unwind from the hustle and bustle of lecture halls and studying by immersing yourself in nature’s calming effect on the body and mind. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow participants, our playful dogs, and the Wellbeing team.
Purpose of the walk:
- Relaxation: get away from the hustle and bustle of the lecture halls and studying. Nature has a calming effect on the body and mind.
- Connection: Connect with each other, connect with our two playful dogs and get to know the Wellbeing team.
- Playfulness: If you want to, you can play and cuddle with the dogs.
- Being outside: Fresh air, sunshine, and the greenery around us contribute to our wellbeing.
Programme:
1. Gathering: we meet at the entrance of Tapijn 11 -stairs at 11h30.2.
2. Hike: we take a pleasant brisk walk of 1.5 hours through the nearby nature reserve, halfway we will have a lunchbreak.
3. Lunch: we find a nice place for our lunch. Everyone brings their own packed lunch.
4. Closing: we return to Tapijn at 13h00 with a fresh perspective and renewed energy.
Wellbeing Check-in

How are you doing?
In this 1-on-1 session with a coach, you will gain insight into your overall wellbeing using the positive health spiderweb. Health is more than just the absence of illness—it includes your physical, mental and social wellbeing. You will reflect on different aspects of your life and check in with yourself on how you are really doing.
By the end of the session, you will have taken at least one step toward improving your wellbeing in a way that matters to you.

Boost your resilience
Are you sometimes stuck in stress, negative thoughts, or difficult feelings?
In this interactive workshop, you will learn smart strategies from ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) to :
- Deal with uncomfortable feelings and setbacks.
- Distance yourself from thoughts that hold you back.
- Learn a healthy way to deal with all the things that don't feel great.
You will be given concrete tools and practical exercises, to feel more in control by the end of the session – both in your studies and in your daily life.
ACT is an action-oriented therapeutic approach that stems from traditional cognitive behavior therapy. It helps people engage in meaningful actions despite the presence of negative thoughts or emotions.
It greatly helps navigate life’s challenges more effectively. In the workshop we’ll show you strategies that work and give you hands-on tools.

That’s why we’re making kindness bracelets!
A fun little reminder to weave self-kindness into your life (even when things don’t go right).
Come hang out, craft your bracelet, and leave with habits that lift you up.
Breast Cancer Awareness Workshop

Winner of the UM Student Award 2025!
Busted Foundation is a unique initiative by Eva de Groeve and Laura de Raeve. It's small project, created from passion and interest in female health and education.
Eva and Laura saw the gap in knowledge about breast cancer around them and could not ignore this.
Women, girls and anyone with breast-tissue of any age should be aware of the risk factors and signs of breast cancer.
Join fellow We should all know that something as easy as a 2-minute self-check-up every month can lead not only to earlier detection of cancerous growths, but more importantly teach us about our own bodies and what is normal for each one of us.
Busted aims to empower individuals of all ages, particularly women and girls, to take proactive steps in their own breast health and encourage breast cancer awareness and early detection.
In this hands-on workshop we discuss risk factors, signs and symptoms, breast anatomy and teach you how to perform an easy 2-minute self checkup.
We aim to foster an open and comfortable environment to discuss breast cancer and where all questions, thoughts and stories are welcome.

City Running Tour
Time: 17h30 - 19h00
Where: Faculty of Law, Lenculenstraat (side entrance)
Easy running
Combine your workout with sightseeing on this running tour of Maastricht. The pace is adjusted to suit everyone and there are plenty of stops for explanations and anecdotes.
Warm-up + 60 minutes easy running by Raoul Spronken. He is the owner of Maastricht Running Tours, an organisation that he set up 12 years ago. Raoul does city and trail tours for tourists, expats, companies and the Wellbeing Movement.
Come in your running outfit. Raoul has a small backpack for your keys and mobile phone.
Ready to challenge yourself?
Kickboxing is a dynamic combat sport that combines punches, kicks, and knees into a powerful full-body workout.
Our lessons are the ultimate mix of fitness, technique, and fun; improving your strength, coordination, reaction speed and boosting your self-confidence along the way.
Whether you’re a total beginner or more advanced, everyone is welcome to jump in. The class takes place barefoot on judo mats and includes a tough warm-up, partner drills and sometimes bag training; all in a safe and controlled setting.
Don’t forget your towel (mandatory) and water bottle.
Boxing gloves and shin guards can be borrowed.
Virtual Retreat
Need a little break?
Come to Randwyck Library for a Virtual Retreat. Step into a VR world to relax and have fun catching pesky aliens, conduct an orchestra, paint or discover space. During the Virtual Retreat you can choose from a variety of games and experiences using VR Glasses.
