Congress of the Members of the Court: A Court Fit for Its Time: Pursuing the Evolution of the Permanent Court of Arbitration for the Fulfilment of its Promise

Established in 1899 at the First Hague Peace Conference, the Permanent Court of Arbitration (“PCA”) will celebrate its 125th anniversary on 29 July 2024.

On the occasion of its 125th Anniversary, the PCA will hold the third-ever Congress of its Members of the Court to talk about the future of the PCA, its contributions to international law, and how it can better serve the evolving dispute resolution needs of the Contracting Parties.

This Congress will be held at the Peace Palace in The Hague (the Netherlands) from Wednesday, 12 June 2024 to Friday, 14 June 2024.

In addition to the Congress, the Members of the Court, and their partners, will have opportunities to enjoy a tour of the Peace Palace and cultural activities in The Hague.

In honour of the 125th Anniversary of the First Hague Peace Conference, Peace Concerts organized by the Municipality of The Hague & the Permanent Court of Arbitration will be held at the Hague Tower (Grote of Sint-Jacobskerk) and at the Peace Palace.

Access

Guests will be required to present a valid passport or identity card to gain access to the Peace Palace premises.

Guests are advised to come on foot to the extent possible. You may enter the Peace Palace through the Security Lodge at the left site of the gate.

Guests arriving by car are invited to please proceed to the right gate.

Please note that there is no parking space available at the Peace Palace premises.
