As an event manager, you work with participants’ data. You want to be sure that this data is secure. Names, email addresses, dietary preferences, and sometimes even payment details or research results come into your possession. It’s only natural that you place a high priority on privacy and security. You’re not just responsible for organizing a smooth event; you’re also safeguarding the details of everyone involved.
That’s why we’re proud to announce that aanmelder.nl has officially obtained a SOC 2 Type II certification.
What does this mean?
SOC 2 Type II is the international standard for information security for service providers. It demonstrates that we don’t just have excellent procedures on paper but that we structurally operate in a secure and reliable way.
An independent auditor scrutinized our processes for an entire year. The conclusion? aanmelder.nl meets the highest standards for:
- Security
- Availability
- Confidentiality
Why does this matter for you and your organization?
You handle personal data from participants, colleagues, and speakers. Even a small data leak or oversight can have significant consequences. And if you work with public institutions, healthcare organizations, or corporate clients, you know they are demanding ever stricter data security standards from their suppliers.
By choosing a platform with SOC 2 Type II certification, you’re showing that you work with a software partner who has demonstrably established security practices. This enables you to work confidently—even with clients who have demanding security requirements.
If your organization has an IT department, it’s useful to share (and emphasize) that aanmelder.nl has achieved SOC 2 certification. This can be a valuable point in discussions with IT managers or compliance officers.
Your benefits at a glance:
- Greater certainty: You know your data is managed securely and responsibly.
- Fewer compliance concerns: For organizations subject to stricter regulations (such as healthcare, government, or financial sectors), it means your supplier has a proven commitment to security.
- Reliable collaboration: We continually invest in long-term security so that you can focus on organizing a successful event.
SOC 2 is great—but how does it differ from ISO 27001?
You might already be familiar with our ISO 27001 certification. Good to know: now we’re also SOC 2 Type II certified. While both certifications address information security, their emphasis differs.
- ISO 27001 focuses on establishing and managing an information security management system (ISMS). The annual audit usually takes 2 to 3 days.
- SOC 2 Type II evaluates whether our security measures work effectively in practice, with a focus on security, availability, and confidentiality. This audit lasts about 15 days. Additionally, the collected evidence is reviewed by a second and third auditor.
To put it simply: ISO looks “inside out” to see how the system is designed; SOC 2 assesses “outside in” whether the system functions as intended. Together, they prove that we don’t just pay lip service to information security—we ensure it’s demonstrably sound in practice.
