Dutch Acceleration Plan

EPIC is organised by the Dutch Acceleration Plan.  

The Acceleration Plan Educational Innovation with IT is a national four-year programme running from 2019 to 2022. In the Acceleration Plan, Dutch research universities, universities of applied sciences, and SURF are working on opportunities the digital transformation offers higher education in the Netherlands.    

In ten teams, each focusing on their own topic, nearly 150 people from 39 institutions nationwide, collaborate to maximise the opportunities digitalisation offers education. The mission of the Acceleration Plan is to create opportunities for taking substantial steps in the field of digitalisation in higher education. The Acceleration Plan marks the step the Dutch have taken to join forces in realising this ambition at an accelerated pace.

The ten theme's of the Acceleration Plan are:
1. Towards (open) educational resources

2. Secure and reliable use of education data

3. Remote digital assessment

4. Faciltiatating professional development of lecturers

5. Strengthening digital human capital

6. Evidence-informed educational innovation with technology

7. Accelerating educational innovation together

8. Digital education of practical skills

9. EdTech for educational innovation

10. Making education more flexible
